Welcome to the homepage of the Algebraic Geometry and Number Theory research group (

**AGNT**) at IPM. Here, you will find an overview of the AGNT group, including our research domains, and the various types of activities we organize such as seminars, conferences, and courses. You are welcome to participate in any of these activities.

## About AGNT

The AGNT group, which was officially founded in 2021, is part of the School of Mathematics at IPM. Research in the AGNT group is carried out in the areas of

**Algebraic Geometry**,

**Arithmetic Geometry**and

**Number Theory**. The research interests of our group cover a wide range of topics including (but not limited to):

Moduli Spaces and Character Varieties, Intersection Theory, Enumerative Problems, Higgs Bundles, Postulation of Linear Configurations, Quiver Varieties, Toric Varieties and Toric Degeneration.

Langlands Program, Shimura Varieties, Rapoport-Zink Spaces, Moduli of G-Shtukas, Drinfeld Modular Varieties, p-adic Hodge Theory, Arithmetic of Elliptic Curves.

**Number Theory**:

Galois Cohomology, Distribution of Points on Algebraic Varieties, Curve Based Cryptography, Arithmetic of Cryptographic Systems, Sum-Product Problem, Rational Points on Curves and Surfaces.

The AGNT group has close links with other research groups at the IPM School of Mathematics, including Combinatorics and Computing, Commutative Algebra, and Geometry and Topology.
