CIMPA School and International Conference on Commutative Algebra, Hanoi, Vietnam: 2006-01-25

A CIMPA School (December 26--30, 2005) and International Conference (January 3-6, 2006) on Commutative Algebra have been held in Institute of Mathematics, Hanoi,Vietnam. The CIMPA school was endorsed as one of the 2005 activities of the CIMPA. The International Conference was to promote the collaboration between mathematicians of different devoloping and developed countries. The lectures of the CIMPA school were M. Brodmann (Local cohomology), D. Cox (Toric Varieties ), J. Herzog (Minimal free resolution ) and B. Ulrich (Blow-up algebras and reductions of ideals). Each lecturers gave 5 hours lecture. There were almost 40 talks in the international conference on commutative algebra. Among the participants there were 8 Iranian (Their were the biggest group after the Vietnamese): J. Z. Amjadi (20 minutes talk on "Cohomological dimension of generalized local cohomology modules"), J. Assadolahi, M. T. Dibaei (20 minutes talk on "Graded local cohomology: attached and associated primes, asymptotic behaviors"), K. Divaani-Aazar (20 minutes talk on "Two characterizations of pure injective modules"), S. Faridi (20 minutes talk on "Simplicial cycles and the computation of simplicial trees"), S. H. Hassanzadeh, R. Sazeedeh (20 minutes talk on "Hilbert-Kirby polynomials, multiplicities, and graded local cohomology modules"), S. Yassemi (40 minutes talk on "A Theorem of Bass: past, present, and future").
