The first part of the talk will be a survey on the model theory of differentially closed fields and
the strongly minimal sets found there. In the second part of the talk I will discuss recent work
with Freitag, Jaoui and Nagloo on a family of equations introduced by Poizat and applications
to certain Lienard equations.
