Hochster's homological conjectures are, almost entirely (but not entirely), established in full generality by Yves Andre's works in the remaining mixed characteristic case, in a series of works since 2016. The breakthrough towards their establishment required the invention of the concept of perfectoid spaces. In this talk, I want to present my recent work published recently in J. Algebra on Hochster's homological conjectures, discussing the conjectures in a characteristic free point of view.
