  The Famous Computer Scientist and Combinatorialist Endre Szemerédi Wins Abel Prize for 2012

  The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters has decided to award the Abel Prize for 2012 to Endre Szemerédi Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, and Department of Computer Science, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA "for his fundamental contributions to discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science, and in recognition of the profound and lasting impact of these contributions on additive number theory and ergodic theory."

  Professor Herbert Wilf Passed Away

  Herbert Wilf, founding Editor-in-Chief of The Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, died on January 7, 2012, after a protracted illness. Wilf's contributions to combinatorics have been immense, and through his papers, books, teaching, lectures, and students, he has had a profound influence on the development of combinatorics for nearly fifty years.

  The Legend of the King and the Mathematician

  The book entitled 'The Legend of the King and the Mathematician' is written by Mehdi Behzad and Naghmeh Samini. Penned on demand of the House of Mathematics of Gießen in Germany, the play discusses mathematical problems in a legendary framework.
